Project Title

The Windows

Background

A window is an opening, solid surface through which light and, sometimes, air can pass.
It is usually glass or a strong, transparent plastic.

Most of houses or buildings have windows. Some buildings are covered most of exterior by windows.
People see through windows from to both in and outside. In city like here Manhattan where is full of high buildings and apartments, and they are placed close each other, we can see people next building who look over their windows.

Sometimes those look each other, eye encounters...
Sometimes or often, you see odd things whether you like or not.
Can you imagine if someone watch you all the time from other windows? That must not feel conformable I guess.

With a space and interface that I produce, I try to transfer the space and time for audience to feel odd experiences with windows.

User Scenario

- Different audiences has entered each room all at the same time as well as at different time.
- One room is occupied by me (or performer) who are always watching over other windows while audiences in and out in other rooms.
- When audiences get close to the window, they will find him or herself on one of the other side of windows, also see me to watch them.

- It¡¯s real time movie, so you can move, hide, play, interact with others or me.
- But audiences see that I (performer) never look away from them whatever they do.

Installation Setup

- More than 2 rooms.
- Same room setup for all the rooms.
- Front space for audience to watch.
- Thin wall with a window in the middle.
- Another wall for projection from behind at close ahead.
- Space for projection that audiences cannot see.
- Therefore what audiences will see is a projected video clips which is real time through the window.
