Description

“Afterimage” is a group of interactive visualprojects that I have been working on for many years. The theme builds on the common natural phenomenon of optical illusion.

I have long been fascinated with optical illusions. As I have been studying art, interaction and digital media it was a natural progression to want to use this natural phenomenon as an interaction process and that is how I started my thesis project.

As I spend more time on the project, I am increasingly interested in the discovery that optical illusions are  not only  fun but also very much a part of science.

The impression of a vivid sensation retained by the retina of the eye after the cause has been removed; also extended to impressions left of tones, smells, etc.
